Freddie was just ten weeks old when he died, suddenly and inexplicably. Sarah Key describes the misery and the enigma of her son's cot death, and offers a view of death which no one, at the time of her own bereavement, was able to offer her. All the book's royalties are being donated to Birthright.
This account of bereavement is by a mother whose son suffered a cot death at the age of ten weeks. The author wrote the book as an attempt to reach out for the normality of life - by describing the normality of death. Her grief for Freddie was heightened, she felt, because there was so little communication about death; when faced with her pain, people buttoned their lips in silence. Sarah Key is not critical of the doctors and professional sympathizers - just surprised how little they had to offer - and the book offers to others a view of death which no one was able to offer her at the time of her own bereavement.
