Starting with Aikido at the age of 12 , Aigisilaos (Agi) Traianos found his love and way in the martial arts through Shotokan Karate, TaeKwonDo, Kick Boxing, Wing Chun and later as a teacher in the Alpha Combat System (former coach). Agi showed right from the start a special interest in the applicability and the effectiveness of different systems and a few years ago his path crossed with Heiko's. First as Heiko's teacher, becoming later a student of the filipino martial arts under Heiko's guidance. Together they got certified as Beta-8 practitioners by Richard Grannon. The CXT-Project was almost a natural developement of the blend of systems and arts that came together. With the core fighting ideas in the Beta-8 Syllabus, CXT was developed by integrating and expanding this core with drills and concepts from the battelfield tested art of Kali. Agi is teaching CXT in Germany since 2013.
Heiko Hahn is studying martial arts and self defense from different styles and systems since about 30 years. He started at the age of 5 with traditional styles, but as he was getting older, his interests transferred to the more "reality based" systems. On his journey through the different arts, he became an instructor for Jeet Kune Do Concepts and Filipino Martial Arts under Paul Vunak. After that experience, he continued his research in the field of the RBSD and met a lot of interesting people and teachers out there, and had the chance to learn a lot from them. The one who had the most influence on his actual training is Richard Grannon. Heiko Hahn is an instructor in Grannon's Beta-8 Combative Syllabus. A lot of the Beta-8 Syllabus is integrated in Heiko Hahn's own training methods. Heiko's focus lies in the question "What will work in a real fight?". He is constantly looking for techniques, concepts and tactics under the aspects of effectiveness, functionality, applicability and learnability. He is also constantly looking for the synergy effects between the different arts and training methods.
Life coach, motivational speaker and former nightclub bouncer Richard Grannon decided in 2005 that the world of self defence wasn’t really coming up with the goods. Having been an avid student of martial arts and consumer of self defence videos and books, Richard Grannon decided that the only way he was going to see the kind of material that he wanted shown was to make it himself. Richard began streetfightsecrets.com in 2006 and since then Grannon has developed a strong following and a reputation in the underground martial arts scene for delivering hardcore “no nonsense” real world self protection with his own blend of cutting edge psychology and NLP tailor made for the needs of the modern combatives practitioner. Richard Grannon has clearly been influenced by the philosophy and approach of Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do in that his style is composite, adheres to no cultural or historical fluff and only “absorbs what is useful” whilst strictly throwing everything else out.
