An illustrated introduction to the collections of decorative household textiles in the National Museums of Scotland, highlighting in particular the diverse range of large, richly decorated European and Scottish wall hangings. The development of the collection is also discussed, and individual pieces, largely from the 17th and 18th centuries, are described and planed in their historical context.
