Sadly, nowadays we have lost balance in our homes. Many of us no longer have a hearth, a living fire. The heart of the home is all too often replaced by a status symbol of clinical modern design. This book includes advice on: how to bring out the potential of the kitchen; considering its history, mythology and psychology; how to use colour, sound, scent and light in the room; furnishings and decoration, creative storage and finishing touches; and simple rituals and blessings for the kitchen - smudging, cleansing and rituals.
