Janet takes us through the reality of parenting six children of the same age – the extreme sleep deprivation, the bottle-feeding, and later the chaotic routine of getting six girls to school on time. As they grew up, Janet learned to keep a sense of humour through the teenage tantrums and boy trouble, and she watched her little girls blossom into individual, confident young women. She has loved every minute.

Janet Walton is the mother of the world’s first all-female sextuplets. With her husband Graham, she had been trying to have children for a number of years when she finally fell pregnant after her thirteenth fertility treatment. She gave birth on 18 November 1983. Janet still lives in Wallasey, Liverpool, and is glad that at least one daughter – Hannah – still lives at home. She was the administrator of The Newborn Appeal at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust for over 20 years.
