The cross-stitch designs in this text are taken from Chinese textiles, ceramics, art, architecture, and sculpture. Symbols and emblems, such as the dragon, pagoda, chrysanthemum, peacock and butterfly are worked into the collection of designs this text holds. The book begins with advice on materials, equipment and stitches, and explains how to adapt the designs. A collection of household projects follows, with instructions and 63 charts - 51 of which are in colour. A gallery of ideas is are also presented with suggested materials, charts and helpful tips for each design.
