This handbook sets out to show beginners how to set up their own cage or aviary, and leads them through the processes of selecting species, housing, feeding, caring for, and also breeding birds. The text also advises on diseases and their remedies and preventions.
Records of keeping captive birds date as far back as 284BC, when parrots were reportedly carried in processions, and today bird-keeping and breeding has become one of the most wide-spread and popular pastimes in the world. This handbook sets out to show beginners how to set up their own cage or aviary, and leads them through the processes of selecting species, housing, feeding, caring for, and also breeding birds. The text also advises on diseases and their remedies and their prevention. Comprehensive text is supported by fact panels, resulting in information-packed pages that are illustrated with photographs and beautifully executed drawings and diagrams throughout. A 30-page fully illustrated bird compendium identities caged birds and details how to keep and to breed them. This is an important and useful resource for bird-lovers worldwide.
