As a professional who deals daily with children who often have never had much discipline in their lives, and as the father of four young children, I have developed a straightforward (note that I don't call it simple-nothing is simple about being a parent) strategy to deal with a number of frustrating situations. This three-step process is designed to provide an effective, easy-to-follow tool to reverse inappropriate or negative behaviors. The goal is to enjoy your children, and have them enjoy being with you. Two strategies I discuss are catching your child being good and building up versus breaking down. This will result in what I call legacy energy. By raising your children with positive energy, you will create people who are someday excellent, positive parents. Your parenting impacts your children, their children and their children's children to come. The eBook contains chapters on subjects such as addressing thumbsucking, back talk, tardiness, foul language, procrastination, wild playdates, table manners, bathtime reluctance, personal hygiene, getting the child to sleep, keeping rooms clean and general cleanup, complaints of boredom and lack of committment to sports or other activities. It also has tips for the effective use of time-outs and sample behavior reward charts.
