"This unique and comprehensive textbook on obesity has a distinctlyinternational flavor and should be considered mandatory reading forany medical subspecialist or primary care physician who takes careof patients who are obese." (The New England Journal ofMedicine, 2006 (on the second edition))

"This excellent textbook not only integrates the clinical andpractical aspects of obesity as a disease entity but also bridgesthe gap between the laboratory and the clinic. ClinicalObesity provides easily acessible, updated information togetherwith some predictions about future developments, which will provevery interesting for both clinicians and scientists working in thisexciting field." (Obesity Matters (on the firstedition))

"Less than a fifth of the book is taken up by basic science, therest is about how to investigate and manage the obese patient. Itis written by active clinicians and scientists and offers soliddogmatic advice rather than being a text with every factreferenced. I have enjoyed having it on my desk and will continueto thumb through it." (Family Practice (on the firstedition))
