With a new joint venture between Renault and Caterham cars, Alpine has decided to design and manufacture a wide range of future Sport cars. Basically, Renaultsport Technologies and Caterham Technology and Innovation are knwon to have carried out a feasibility study on the joint development of a sports car. As a result, their conclusion was that they could combine their skills to build models in large and small volumes. In fact, each company aims to launch a car within the next three to four years. The joint venture has as aim to revive Renault s Alpine brand which is in line with Renault s strategy of moving more upmarket and relying less on its core models.
