Despite the fact that horse-based tourism is very popular on the high-impact recreational activity, this research field was given only little attention so far. Although, motivation theories have been related to jobs and tourism in general, little is known about the target groups of equestrian tourists.
Meike Bruch was born in Frankenthal (Pfalz) in 1989. In 2012, she graduated in International Business and Tourism Management with the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree at the Heidelberg International Business Academy. During her studies, Meike Bruch gained extensive practical experience with Icelandic horses. For the author was fascinated by the importance of the Icelandic horse breed for Iceland's tourism and economy, she decided to dedicate herself to the topic of this book.
