Helen Krasner holds a Commercial Pilot's Licence and Instructor's Rating for helicopters. She began working as a helicopter instructor in 2003 and has been an instructor for various flying schools where she has flown Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters. She has been writing professionally for many years and contributes regularly to aviation publications. In 2004 she was nominated for an Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for an article about flying helicopters in Russia. She is the Newsletter Editor for the BWPA [British Women Pilots' Association].
