Have you got what it takes to make a successful career from teaching riding? Would you like to know how to make yourself indispensable to your clients? Ross Algar offers first-hand advice on how to establish yourself in this field of work and then how to move up the ranks. He explains how to deal with almost every type of client (children, teenagers, and more mature riders), whether they be competition riders or pleasure riders, confident or nervous riders, and whatever their chosen discipline. He tells you how best to assist your clients with their immediate goals and long-term aims, and how to conduct yourself professionally at all times. With essential advice for practically every teaching situation, this is an equine career training book like no other.

Ross Algar was born in Cambridgeshire in 1960. He started riding at the age of four and completed his first one-day event at the age of eight. He went on to represent his local Pony Club in both eventing and dressage championships and competed his own horses in affiliated events. At the age of nineteen he joined The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery. He rode as part of their display team, and became an instructor at the Army School of Equitation at Melton Mowbray. After twelve years he decided to leave and become a freelance instructor. His wealth of experience and knowledge have made him an incredibly popular trainer. He has recently helped produce a British Rural Riders Team rider, a National Champion Dressage rider and a World Champion Single Horse Carriage Driver. He continues to compete himself.
