The original New Zealand: A Painted Country, compiled by Denis Robinson and featuring artworks by 31 contemporary artists, was a runaway success for New Holland in 2007, selling out entirely in the run-up to Christmas and is already into its third printing. Now, by special arrangement with the artists, twelve of the very best artworks from that title have been selected to appear in a visitors book. Interspersed with ruled pages they create a handsome hardback keepsake that is built to look good and give pleasure for years to come.
Denis Robinson worked as a designer in the marketing industry before continuing his career in Europe, where he also acted as a tour guide in the great art museums. Returning home, he established the first New Zealand design office/creative studio in Wellington. More recently he has managed major art dealer galleries in Auckland, and he initiated the inaugural Auckland Art Fair (2005). His work gives him unique access to the portfolios of New Zealand's most popular contemporary artists north of Auckland. Denis lives on the Hibiscus Coast and operates his own art and design consultancy, connecting artists with patrons and art lovers.
