Ian Michler, a stockbroker by profession, has more than 18 years of guiding experience in Africa. When not on safari, he works as a photojournalist, writing on conservation, wildlife, and travel issues. He is a past category winner in the Agfa Wildlife Photographic Awards. After studying Architecture and Design, Tessa van Schaik left South Africa in 1990 to travel, live and work abroad. Her homes have ranged from the tropics to the bush and lastly the North American Arctic. Based in South Africa since 2004, she lives with Ian in the Southern Cape, from where she writes and runs a business.
