Guidebook to walking both options for the GR7 trek through Spain's Andalucia across 7 natural parks and 1 national park. Complete route description and accommodation details to aid with route planning.
Guidebook to walking the GR7 trek through Spain's Andalucia. With its white sandy beaches, pine forests, snow-capped peaks, traditional villages, lush river valleys and olive groves, the GR7 takes you on a journey through the most geographically diverse region on the Iberian peninsula. This varied route starts at the southernmost tip of Spain at Tarifa, and meanders through the provinces of Cádiz and Málaga before dividing. The northern route heads through Córdoba and Jaén provinces (711km in total), while the southern route passes through Almería and Granada (720km). The route crosses seven stunning natural parks and the Sierra Nevada national park. This is the first guide to cover the whole of the GR7 in Andalucía and gives detailed route descriptions for around 60 days of walking, with options for creating shorter sections and days. Information on all the villages en route offering accommodation is also included so that you can plan your own route.

Michelle Lowe loves walking and the outdoors. She lives in Edinburgh but has travelled and walked in Europe and South America. This is her first guidebook, but hopefully not her last. Kirstie Shirra has been climbing mountains since she could walk. Based in Edinburgh, she spends much of her time escaping to the unrivalled mountains of the northwest of Scotland. She has travelled in Europe and South America.
