In 1987, Beesley Gibbons Ltd gained permission from both St James's Palace and the Treasure Houses Group to produce a series of hardback books reflecting the glory of the great estates of Britain. Photographers gained access to the various houses and castles which form an important part of Britain's heritage, not only taking the reader on a guided tour of these great estates, but also going behind the scenes to areas seldom visited by the public.
