Christiaan Corlett is an archaeologist with the National Monuments Service of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. He has written, compiled and edited many books on subjects ranging from archaeology, history and folklore to early photography. His books include: Glendalough, Antiquities of West Mayo, Jane W. Shackleton’s Ireland and Inscribing the Landscape: the Rock Art of South Leinster. Chris is also one of Ireland’s photographers of archaeological and historical monuments, and the majority of the photographs in this book are his own work.
