This pocket-sized guide allows business and vacation travelers to explore Johannesburg's attractions safely, including excellent museums, markets, art galleries, and cafes. Also features background on Johannesburg's history and culture, clear city maps, and a language guide.
In the past year Johannesburg has made enormous strides in creating a safe, dynamic city which has won two awards from the British Guild of Travel Writers. This pocket-sized guide will give confidence to business and holiday travellers wanting to make the most of a visit to the major sites as well as Johannesburg's other attractions, including excellent museums telling the story of South Africa's turbulent history, markets which sell cheeses and Cape wineland produce, art galleries showcasing local painting as well as bohemian cafés which personify the "Rainbow Nation".

Lizzie Williams is a freelance travel writer who has written several guides on destinations ranging from Turkey to Namibia and numerous articles on African travel published in magazines that include Msafari (Kenya Airways in-flight), Africa Environment and Wildlife, and Travel Africa. She has previously been editor of a travel magazine in Zimbabwe, and was the author of the Bradt guide to Nigeria. She has travelled extensively in Africa, both independently and in her role as overland expedition leader.
