Much more than a map - the Galapagos Explorer contains a large number of colour photos of a range of endemic animals and some plants from this most famous of island archipelagos. There's a map of Darwin's route during his brief but highly significant visit to the islands in 1835, a diagram of the main ocean currents influencing Galapagos, and another diagram illustrating the "hot spot" theory of volcano formation. Includes a list of notable visitors' mini-biographies ranging from the first known visitor (the Bishop of Panama in 1535), through Charles Darwin, to the two pre-eminent scientists studying evolution there today (Rosemary and Peter Grant).
