The Art of Scottish Golf is the story of why Scotland will always be at the heart of golf conversations around the globe.
Scotland is the birthplace and the home of golf, with a rich tradition which is recognised around the world. The Art of Scottish Golf is the perfect companion for golfers everywhere, with a mix of golfing lore, history, iconic Scottish courses, brilliant anecdotes from players and caddies past and present, and much more.

For golfers, Scotland is a place like no other, where you can follow in the footsteps of players from Old Tom Morris to Jack Nicklaus and Seve Ballesteros to Sandy Lyle on Open Championship courses at St Andrews, Carnoustie, Royal Troon, Muirfield and Turnberry. Or you can try out one of the many other beautiful or remote courses set all around the country, where links golf in particular can be a challenge for anyone.

With a wealth of detail and stories, The Art of Scottish Golf shows why Scotland is such a special destination for golfers from home and overseas

Martin Dempster is a proud Borders man who now lives in Fife. He is the golf correspondent for The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and Edinburgh Evening News. A member of the Association of Golf Writers since 1997, he served as the organisation's Chairman from 2019-2023. Golf has always been one of his main passions, having cut his teeth in the sport at Eyemouth and also played at Dunbar before becoming a member of Aberdour.
