Figures illustrate the key ID features of superficially similar species. Larval hostplants, distribution and flight periods are included.
Don't forget to pack this handy butterfly guide when visiting Cyprus. The island displays a wealth of wild habitats, occupied by a range of animals and plants, including butterflies. Many of these are exotic and spectacular, and the butterfly fauna is particularly rich in members of the family of blue butterflies.
The book contains colour photographs of living specimens of the uppersides of both sexes and the undersides of each of the resident species and regular visitors. The written accounts include information on the larval hostplants, distribution and flight periods of all the species recorded in the island to date. In addition, there are figures illustrating the key identification features of superficially similar species.

The author, Adrian Riley, regularly visits Cyprus to watch birds and butterflies; he loves the island for its rich wildlife. Adrian has been interested in wildlife, more especially butterflies, moths and birds, from early childhood. For over forty years he worked as a professional entomologist and moth recorder in Hertfordshire, although now lives in Norfolk from where he leads wildlife tours, both within the UK and mainland Europe.
