Wonderful Waiheke captures the wonder, whimsy and beauty of Waiheke Island. The beautiful vistas and wonderful beaches, the eccentricity of the place, the village atmosphere and the mix of people all add to Waiheke's attraction. Host to a jazz festival, sculpture exhibition, food and wine festival and events such as the Onetangi beach races and the wharf-to-wharf fun run, Waiheke sums up New Zealand as it used to be - a preserve of Kiwiana. Visitors to this stunning island paradise can take away memories of their visit with this book.

Cliff Schaeffer has been a professional photographer on Waiheke since 1988. He owns Microflight Photography in Oneroa selling photographs, postcards, posters and art materials. His photographic library contains more than 40,000 images - the majority being of Waiheke. He specialises in aerial photography and shot much of his early work from a microlight aircraft. Jane Parlane has owned a bach on Waiheke for 16 years. She has a background in journalism and communications and has run her own public relations, freelance writing and publishing firm, Auckland Communications Company, since 1989. Her feature articles have been published in many magazines and she sub-edited the Foodtown magazine for several years. Jane has a BA from Victoria University of Wellington. She chaired the Onetangi Beach Ratepayers Association for several years.
