From the colourful shrine cities of Chilpancingo, Iguala, and Taxco to the limestone formations of Juxtlahuaca, Moon Handbooks Acapulco is the traveller's introduction to this rare place of magnificent vistas, glittering hotels, and rich history. Covering the entire region, including Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, the Costa Grande, Guerrero upcountry, and the Costa Chica, this book provides up-to-date details on the best of Acapulco. With tips on the best places to shop for handicrafts, including Taxco's famous silver and Olinala's fine lacquerware, plus listings for celebrated beaches as well as small hideaways like Pie de la Cuesta, Troncones, Barra de Potosl, and Playa Escondida, travellers will find the tools to create a uniquely personal experience in this guidebook.

In the 1980s, the lure of travel drew Bruce Whipperman away from a 20-year career of teaching physics. The occasion was a trip to Kenya, which included a solar eclipse and a safari. He hasn't stopped travelling since. Bruce has always pursued his travel career for the fun of it. He started with slide shows and photo gifts for friends. Others wanted his photos, so he began selling them. Once, stranded in Ethiopia, he began to write. A dozen years later, Moon Handbooks Pacific Mexico became his first book, followed by Moon Handbooks to Puerto Vallarta and Oaxaca. For him, travel writing heightens his awareness and focuses his own travel experiences. He always remembers what a Nepali Sherpa said: "Many people come, looking, looking; few people come, see."
