French riviera

The term "Côte d'Azur" was first coined in 1887 and what an inspiration that was ! Until then, these two words which we are now so used to combining without really thinking about it, had never been used together. An azure coast with blue tinted waves and heavenly air, where the lapis lazuli sky meets the Mediterranean sea... the new name for the Riviera was born.
