There is also practical information for the visitor as well as the historical and cultural background to the area. None of the walks in this book goes higher than 2000m and many of them are considerably lower level. They are generally within the capability of an averagely fit person and are graded Difficult, Medium or Easy.
Janette Norton has lived in France, near Geneva, for over 30 years. Her love of mountain walking dates from the time she was a guide in her twenties; the proximity of the Alps and Jura to her home has inspired her to continue her passion. Now her family has grown up, she has branched out to explore other areas of France.
