The Kennedy White House years are looked back on with nostalgia as a legendary time. Letitia Baldrige was an old schoolfriend of Jacqueline Kennedy's and was her social secretary during the White House Years. She is the author of fourteen other books, including Diamonds and Diplomats and Letitia Baldrige's Complete Guide to the New Manners for the '90s. Rene Verdon was born near Nantes, France, and worked at La Caravelle in New York before being chosen by Jacqueline Kennedy to be White House chef. He later opened a restaurant in San Francisco, where he now resides.
