Dreaming of a greater journey than that of the rat-race, seasoned traveller Mark Mann decides to follow the faded tracks of the hippies, now re-emerging on a classic backpacker trail through South-East Asia. Wandering from China through Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, Mark explores both remote regions and steaming cities; experiencing the realities and contradictions of modern travel when East meets West, outlandish travellers are matched only in strangeness by experience, and the most extraordinary of situations are the norm.
