A strong case can be made that Paris leads the world's other cities in art and cuisine, in architecture and history, in music and sculpture, in philosophy and political ferment, in nearly every other area of interest to the visitor.

Written by longtime Paris residents Anna E. Brooke and Margie Rynn, Frommer's EasyGuide to Paris is a portable tribute to the 'City of Light' and a roadmap to creating a hassle-free trip of a lifetime. From the world-famous panorama of the Champs-Elysées to the cathedral of Notre-Dame, from how to beat crowds at the Louvre to the ideal way to experience the Eiffel Tower, the book is packed with solid tips, is fully updated, and includes:

16 pages of colour photos, plus dozens more photos throughout

Insider lists of the city's highlights

Local knowledge on the best places to eat — and how to avoid tourist traps

Detailed maps marked with attractions, hotels, restaurants, and Métro stops

Suggested itineraries, including for families and short stays

A full-colour Paris Métro map

Brilliant walking tours spanning the city, with maps

A section on useful phrases, including pronunciation guide.

Anna E. Brooke relocated from her native Britain to Paris in 2000 and hasn't looked back since. She is now a full-fledged bohemian, juggling life between freelance travel writing (Frommer's, Sunday New York Times Travel, Time Out Paris and the Financial Times), children's fiction, acting and songwriting for film. Margie Rynn has been living and writing about France for over 16 years. The author of Pauline Frommer's Paris, she has also written features for several travel magazines, as well as Time Out New York and Yoga Journal. In a previous New York life, she acted in a Broadway play and performed her own one-woman show. Margie is married to a kind and understanding Frenchman and they have a lovely fourteen year old son. She lives in Paris.
