Mandy Baca is author of The Sizzling History of Miami Cuisine: Cortaditos, Stone Crabs and Empanadas and the forthcoming, Discovering Vintage Miami. A Miami native, Baca grew up surrounded by an abundance of food traditions. Her culinary passions led her to the Hospitality School at Johnson & Wales University and then to a master's program in Italian Gastronomy & Tourism at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy. She currently resides in Miami, Florida, and works as a freelancer writer.
