Best selling author John Lane first went to South America in 1959, meeting President Frondisi of Argentina and moving on through Uruguay to Brazil. He travelled to Peru from Belize in 1997 and lived in Miraflores, Lima for three years, writing A Very Peruvian Practice about his country-wide experiences (published by John Murray, hardback and paperback). He has also lived in Iquitos where he has several hectares of land on which oil has been discovered. He is now based in London, but visits Peru and the rain forest annually for weeks at a time
