Nigel Jenkins (1949-2014) was a much-loved poet, haiku-writer and cultural commentator in both languages, and a past winner of Wales Book of the Year. He was the Director of the Creative Writing programme at the University of Swansea, and was prominent in the cultural life of the city. He is the author of the Real Swansea and Real Swansea Two, and was one the editors of the Welsh Encyclopaedia.
