Toby Green first went to Chile as an English teacher in 1992, when he spent a year working in Santiago, and travelled the country from Arica to Tierra del Fuego. He has been back several times since, whilst developing a career as a writer and editor. He has written for many of the UK national newspapers, and is the author of two works of narrative travel, Saddled with Darwin which was nominated for 2 literary prizes and translated into 5 languages, and Meeting the Invisible Man.
