Dr Janet Cochrane is a Senior Research Fellow at the International Centre for Responsible Tourism at Leeds Metropolitan University, UK. Her involvement in Indonesia stretches back to 1979, and she has spent a total of eight years working and travelling in the country. Debbie Martyr has lived and worked in Western Sumatra for 15 years. A former journalist, she has written widely on Indonesia.
