One of two guidebooks to walking Scotland's Munros, covering the southern, central and western Scottish Highlands, including Glencoe, Glen Shee, the Mamores and Mull. 139 mountains are explored in this guide, with detailed route descriptions of these magnificent peaks such as Ben Nevis, Lochaber, Ben More, Ben Alder and Aonach Mor and Creise.
This guidebook is Volume 1 of a two-part set, detailing 69 varied and challenging routes to climb 139 Munros, covering the southern, central and western highlands of Scotland. Bound in a hard-wearing, waterproof PVC cover, it includes all the popular routes in these areas, such as in Glencoe, Glen Shee, the Mamores and Mull. The guide is ideal for Munro bagging, or for walking information on such hills as Ben Nevis, Lochaber, Ben More, Ben Alder and Aonach Mor and Creise. The guide features custom-drawn 1:100,000 maps alongside its outstanding colour photography, and its comprehensive information on tackling this famous collection of mountains includes useful details on Gaelic names, accommodation, access and advice for making the most out of a reader's time in the mountains. Volume 2 covers the Munros of the northern highlands and Cairngorms and explores the other 145 Munros.

Steve Kew is a journalist and mountaineer. He started climbing in 1970 and has since walked and climbed throughout Britain, as well as in the Himalayas and Alps. He lives in Scotland and is a member of the Galloway Mountain Rescue Team and Committee. Steve's writing includes books, articles and radio drama for the BBC.
