Describes 500 sports routes in central Belgium (Freyr, Rochers de Neviau - Dave, Marche les Dames and Mozet - limestone crags) and Berdorf in Luxzembourg (sandstone).
In Belgium and Luxembourg are cliffs with all the attributes of their southern counterparts: perfect rock, plentiful fixed protection and sublime settings (though some are rather urban) and they have a few extra advantages: the northerly position and southern aspect of much of the rock means that climbing is possible from early spring well through into late autumn without it ever getting too hot; there are routes of all grades; the cliffs are only two to five hours from the channel ports; the Belgian people are exceptionally friendly and most speak at least some English. This volume attempts to describe the routes in a very British fashion. There is a descriptive account of all the routes, a star rating for quality, technical grades for individual pitches, and an 'E' grade for routes up to 6c+. also included is the Belgian grade for comparison. All the cliffs described in Belgium are of high quality limestone, whereas those in Luxembourg are of an excellent hard sandstone.

Chris Craggs was born in Richmond, North Yorkshire, in 1950. He started rock climbing in 1965 on Yorkshire gritstone and in the Lake District. He moved to Sheffield in 1970 to train as a teacher and 'hit' the Peak District. He currently teaches in a special school for children with severe learning difficulties. Chris has climbed extensively in the UK, from Jersey to northern Scotland and all stops in between. In Europe he has been to locations as far apart as northern Sweden and Gibraltar, including 40 trips to Spain. He has also made nine extended trips to the USA, where he visited spots as varied as Squamish Chief in British Colombia, the Devil's Tower in Wyoming and City of Rocks in Idaho, as well as the honey pots of Yosemite, Zion and the Grand Canyon. Chris has written six books on UK and foreign climbing destinations, and writes regularly for the UK outdoor press.
