It looks at the challenges faced and the steps taken to overcome them, and is intended as a guide for any person involved in the planning and preparation, for future incidents, to learn from and avoid the mistakes made in London.The DVD includes interviews with key partners, including The Emergency Planning Society, Westminister Council, Victim Support, Cruse Bereavement Care, British Red Cross, and the Salvation Army. It is divided into two reference sections: The Resilience Mortuary and The Family Assistance Centre, which are accessed from the main menu. It interviews with MP Tessa Jowell and the London Mayor Ken Livingston, plus many other interviews from the people involved sharing their experiences. This clip can be viewed using Windows Media Player, MPlayer, RealPlayer, or similar.The Metropolitan Police Family Liaison Advisory Team provides strategic and tactical advice and support to the Metropolitan Police Service or any other agencies that are deploying or are involved in the deployment of Family Liaison Officers (FLO).
Created in 1999 the unit consists of 10 advisors, all of whom are experienced FLOs with specialist investigative knowledge and experience. When dealing with mass fatality emergencies they will deploy to strategic locations nationally and internationally to provide support to the overall humanitarian response.
