An essential emotional and legal guide for dealing with the aftermath of leaving your narcissistic ex-partner. Divorcing someone is hard, realising they’re a narcissist is harder and escaping their clutches after separation is harder still. Following the success of Divorcing a Narcissist: The lure, the loss and the law, Karin Walker and Dr Supriya McKenna, experts on narcissistic behaviour and family law, have teamed up again to create Surviving your Narcissist Ex: how to end post separation abuse and reclaim your future.

The book identifies the various traits obtained by the four different narcissist types so you can premeditate their behaviour, prepare for the hurdles you may have to face and take control of the situation. Narcissists won’t back down in defeat, nor will they admit when they’re wrong. Gaslighting, hoovering, triangulation and blame shifting – all explained in the book - are just some of the tactics used to make the post-breakup process exhausting, and make moving on with a new partner challenging.

Surviving your Narcissist Ex provides you with the escape routes to free yourself from the emotional chains your narcissistic ex has placed on you. Written in an engaging style it sets out clear descriptions for you to identify past and present behavioural patterns and covers all aspects of your post-separation life that might be affected by your ex. Not only is this a holistic guide for motivation and empowerment, it also includes accessible explanations of the legal loopholes that a narcissist will seek to exploit so you can stay one step ahead on your post-separation journey.

Dr Supriya McKenna is a qualified doctor and practised as a GP before concentrating on coaching, mentoring and supporting those involved in relationships with highly narcissistic individuals, including in the area of separation and divorce. She advises professionals in dealing with clients who have been affected by narcissists, and has hands-on experience of the UK Family Court system. Karin Walker is the founding partner at KGW Family Law and is a solicitor, mediator, collaborative practitioner and arbitrator. She is recognises by both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners as a leader in her field and is a former Chair of the National DR Committee of Resolution.
