The book gives a first-time structured overview of trade-related aspects of international economic law and comparative commercial law, including dispute resolution, in the Eurasian region. It is focused on the countries in the Caucasus, Central Asia, as well as Russia.
Situated between Europe and the borders of China, the Eurasian region is seldom studied from an overall legal perspective. The book gives a first-time structured overview of trade-related aspects of international economic law, comparative commercial law, and dispute resolution in this region, focused on the countries in the Southern Caucasus, Central Asia, as well as Russia. It also addresses the Eurasian Economic Union. Law of International Trade in the Region of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Russia approaches international trade law with a combined public international law and comparative private law perspective, taking into account the global and European context.

Alexander Trunk is the director of the Institute of East European Law at Kiel University, the only such institution at a German university. He has been teaching comparative law with a particular focus on Eastern Europe for more than twenty years, and has published extensively in this field, including conflict of laws and dispute resolution. Marina Trunk-Fedorova, Ph.D. (2004), is an associate professor at St. Petersburg State University and at the Ural State Law University in Yekaterinburg. She has numerous publications in English, Russian and German in the fields of international economic law. Azar Aliyev, Dr. jur. (2016), is an associate professor of international economic law and comparative law at Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg and teaches also at several universities in Azerbaijan. His publications focus on investment law, comparative civil law, and dispute resolution.
