When all hope is gone

There may be a time during the divorce process that all hope is gone. For me, this day was April 19th, 2017 at 3:50PM. I looked outside and noticed six police officers surrounded my home and two approaching my front door as I observed on my home surveillance system. My initial thoughts were fear, frustration, anxiety, anger, and disbelief. As I opened the door the police officer asked me if I was Dominique Louis? Upon replying yes, he had a stack of papers in his hand and told me that he does not like this, he does not agree with this, he is sorry that he has to do this but he has a signed Court Order from Judge Merilee Erchlich to grant my Wife 100% temporary custody of my children and exclusive use of the marital residence, until further order of the court. The Order stated that an emergency ex parte hearing was held for the Guardian Ad-Litem’s Emergency Motion where I was accused of conducting imminent harm to my children. A preponderance of fabricated lies in order to destroy my credibility and gain custody of my children all while intentionally providing the upper hand to my former Wife. I left the home with my computer, car and asked Debora to drive my Audi as I jumped on my Ducati Monster. The officers gave me 5 minutes to grab all of my personal belongings out of kindness and I left the residence.

At this time in my life I had reached my lowest point. Debora gave me the idea that I should write a book, titled, “Divorce, How to lose everything in a week”. I managed to lose my home, children, and business in a week. If it was not for my friends Debora and Shannon who stayed at my side I would not have known what to do. I believe God sent these remarkable women in my life as angels. Debora was a social worker from Switzerland and Shannon Clemons was a 4th year Resident, Medical Doctor. Each serving a miraculous purpose. I was confused and emotional and attracted to both women mentally and physically. Today, I am still friends with my angels, though both have moved on in life, Debora is back in Switzerland and Shannon is a Board certified physician and living her dream by healing her patients using world-class medicine. I was in pain and even worse my children were in pain. I would call to speak to my children and all I could hear is howls of pain, crying and tears from Dustin. “I want my Dad!”, “I want my Daddy!” All I could respond was that it would be alright all while Shannon and Debora were caressing me and showing me love and affection. I thought this was going to be a fast and easy resolution but as the weight of the legal system fell on my shoulders, I borrowed tens of thousands of dollars from my family to sustain me so I would not be homeless and sleeping in my car. I went to the W Hotel in Miami and attempted to act like I was normal. I tried to do things my way instead of God’s way, I failed in so many ways. I later learned that so many men are faced with this same faith. Many men will just give up and leave the country, some will never see their children again, or some may fight a good fight. No matter what one decides to do, if you let God be your lawyer then you will find Justice. It took three months for this fabricated emergency to be lifted and the court to have a hearing to listen to the facts and the Judge vacating the order realized that my former wife, her Guardian Ad-litem, Guardian Ad-litem attorney, and former wife’s actions were all illegal. When and if you lose all hope, do yourself a favor and say this Psalm:

Psalm 91

1. Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6. nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10. no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.
11. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12. they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

My x-Wife was playing the game and playing it well in abusing a system that was designed to oppress, limit, and to marginalize black men. Suddenly, the strong, and educated woman that I married over a decade ago and was a Computer Science Engineer from one of the countries top Engineering Schools- University of California San Diego was crying foul! The justice system became a tool for manipulation of our children, bogarting timesharing to maximize profits of child support, all while taking over a business that she was not licensed to operate and had me out on the streets with the stroke of a Judge’s pen.

The same Honorable Judge Merelle Erlich was also removed from the bench or as some newspapers illustrated that the Honorable Judge retired early but it was clear that she contributed to her own demise by refusing to accommodate a woman in a wheelchair that begged for medical treatment and stated that she could not breathe. I too felt that I could not breathe and when I could not breathe, God breathed for me. This was another miracle. When I heard my son crying and begging for me, I wished I was dead. I could not breathe, I was taken over by emotion. When and if you can not breathe, do yourself a favor and say Psalm 59:

When Saul had sent men to watch David’s house in order to kill him.

1. Deliver me from my enemies, O God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me.
2. Deliver me from evildoers and save me from those who are after my blood.
3. See how they lie in wait for me! Fierce men conspire against me for no offense or sin of mine, Lord.
4. I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Arise to help me; look on my plight!
5. You, Lord God Almighty, you who are the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to wicked traitors.
6. They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city.
7. See what they spew from their mouths— the words from their lips are sharp as swords, and they think, “Who can hear us?”
8. But you laugh at them, Lord; you scoff at all those nations.
9. You are my strength, I watch for you; you, God, are my fortress,
10. my God on whom I can rely.
    God will go before me and will let me gloat over those who slander me.
11. But do not kill them, Lord our shield,[d] or my people will forget.
    In your might uproot them and bring them down.
12. For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. For the curses and lies they utter,
13. consume them in your wrath, consume them till they are no more. Then it will be known to the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob.

15. They wander about for food and howl if not satisfied.
16. But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
17. You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.

It’s 11:50PM on a cold winter evening in December of 2020 when my phone rings. As I look at the number, I realize the phone number is a former colleague of mine who works at the White House as a Data Scientist. I quickly asked my friend who is one of the kindest, most generous, and caring people that I know if everything was alright? He then tells me that it is not alright and that he lost his most valuable possessions in life- his children. He proceeded to explain that his Wife filed false allegations and that he attempted to forcefully enter her home through the front door and take his children. She then accused him of suffering from Bi-Polar and schizophrenia disorder and not taking his medication. She states this in a sworn affidavit, “I am frightened of what he may do next if he does not have his way.” She goes on to explain that “he refuses to take his medication and he believes that he is misdiagnosed.” She was granted the emergency protective order, the children awoken...
