Edited by the Head of Psychology for Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Services, this book gives an account of the work of forensic psychologists in prisons. The book includes contributions from the perspectives of both researchers and practitioners.
Edited by the Head of Psychology for HM Prison Service and the National Probation Service, this book takes an in-depth look at the work of psychologists in HM Prisons. The contributors to the volume cover a wide range of topics, from an overview of what forensic psychologists in prisons do, through to more practical issues such as the recruitment of prison staff, working with different groups of offenders, and incident management. Each contributor starts by focusing upon key themes emerging from his or her area, before moving on to look at what practitioners need to know, and at likely future directions in that field.

Graham Towl is a widely experienced and published forensic psychologist working for the prison service with visiting academic positions at the Universities of Cambridge and Kent. He has experience of working with a broad range of staff from health and social service settings.
