This work documents the development and changing aspects of international, European and national intellectual property and copyright law over the past quarter-century. This period, which began in 1970, has witnessed such significant developments as the revision of the most relevant traditional international conventions, as well as European legislation and legal harmonization, including the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights in 1994. This Agreement ties the international system of protection of intellectual property rights to free trade, represented by the World Trade Organization and GATT.
