The Fair Housing Act was passed into law by Congress in 1968. Since that time, a number of other federal, state and local laws have been established to protect the rights of certain groups to fairly access housing. This book will serve as a resource to help attorneys understand the Fair Housing Act.
After providing a brief background on general fair housing laws to provide context for these new developments, this book provides an overview of disparate impact, AFFH, the Equal Access Rule, a proposed HUD rule on hostile housing environments, and the potential impact on housing providers and their counsel.
