A simple and innovative radiological technique for visualizing vulnerable points of the cranial nerves is presented in this book. The location of each nerve is studied anatomically, by dissections and seriated macroscopic sectional views, and radiologically. Each of the 12 chapters follows the course of one cranial nerve, tracing the intracranial passage from the apparent origin to the territory innervated. This precise knowledge of anatomy is absolutely necessary to correctly interpret MR and CT images of the cranium. Using the method described here, MR and CT images are obtained according to an axis that permits the detection of a small lesion situated near an orifice, groove or channel which has different and sinuous orientations. Even minor tumors, fractures and inter-canal lesions compressing a nerve can be detected.
This book constitutes a real working tool for the maxillofacial surgeon, stomatologist, otorhinolaryngologist, radiologist, ophtalmologist, neurologist, neurosurgeon, anatomist, and specialist in physical medicine.

This work studies the course of each cranial nerve in three dimensions, starting from their apparent origin, and their intracranial passage to the territory innervated, in 12 chapters - one per cranial nerve - using MRI and CT images and coloured anatomic illustrations. In the case of any given syndrome, it makes it possible to conduct an effective investigation and ensures that the interpretation of the images obtained is made with the least trouble and uncertainty. This method may be of interest to the radiologist, the neurologist, the anatomist, the specialist in physical medicine and the medical student.
