This text presents people who have given their names to disorders or syndromes which are thought to have a significant genetic or chromosomal component. The first section features portraits, biographical data and accounts of the evolution of the nomenclature, together with key historical references for 100 eponymous persons who are deceased or retired. The second section contains brief biographical sketches of further physicians, the majority of whom are still active in their careers.
