Provides a description of the fundamental principles of electrokinetic transport. This book features examples that are based on derivations of problems in electrokinetics, presented in research articles, thus providing a pedagogical insight into the subject. It is useful for a researcher planning to initiate studies on electrokinetic transport.
An essential reference book for any professional seeking information regarding particular aspects of electrokinetic transport phenomena, "Electrokinetic Transport Phenomena" provides a single and comprehensive reference on the subject, including an up to date summary of the literature. The book is designed as a convenient starting point for any researcher planning to initiate studies on electrokinetic transport. The examples in the book are based on derivations of problems in electrokinetics, originally presented in research articles, thus providing a direct pedagogical insight into the development of the subject over the past several decades. The application of relevant mathematical principles and the subsequent advanced numerical techniques for solving complex electrokinetic problems and the worked examples are extremely useful to researchers and professionals involved in microfluidic simulations.

JACOB H. MASLIYAH, PhD, is a Professor of Chemical Engineering and a University Professor at the University of Alberta, Canada, and has published over 270 papers in the area of transport phenomena. He currently holds the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Chair in Oil Sands Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Engineering. SUBIR BHATTACHARJEE, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and is the Canada Research Chair in Colloids and Complex Fluids at the University of Alberta, Canada.
