A presentation of the author's theory of multi-phase mixtures with structure, which is based on the method of averaging and a material deformation postulate. Field equations, balance and conservation equations and the constitutive theory are examined and compared with existing approaches.

In this volume, the author offers a detailed presentation of his theory of multiphase mixtures with structure. Based on the concept of averaging the field equations, conservation and balance equations are developed. A material deformation postulate leads to structured mixtures. The resulting model is compared with those in use elsewhere. The final chapters are devoted to constitutive theory and constitutive equations. In particular, two-phase mixtures are treated in some detail. This monograph on thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and mathematical methods in physics is intended for the use of students and researchers.
