This book reveals the origin of the excellent properties of hydrogenated semiconductor materials and their great potential for nanoelectronics, renewable energy, and biological applications by systematically analysing the interrelationships and physical scenarios involved in hydrogenated surface engineering, structure, physical properties, and functions. This book addresses science-passionate readers like scientists and R&D engineers who are interested in synthesis, properties and applications of emerging hydrogenated semiconductor materials, providing them with a quick overview of the latest developments in these fields, and new ideas along with methods for their research works.

Dr Xiaodan Wang is a research associate professor at the Institute of Carbon Neutrality of ShanghaiTech University, China. She received a PhD in Semiconductor Technology from TU Braunschweig, Germany in 2017, then worked as a research fellow at the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films in Germany. Her research interests cover novel semiconductors and its application in renewable energy systems. Beibei Wang is an associate professor at the Yiwu Research Institute of Fudan University, China. He graduated from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom with a major in MEMS, and then worked as a senior researcher in a high-tech company in China. His focus is on smart sensors from basic research to practical applications.Dr Hao Shen is a professor at the Yiwu Research Institute and Institute of Optoelectronics of Fudan University. He received his PhD in experimental physics from Saarland University, Germany, then worked as a group leader at the University of Cologne, TU Braunschweig and Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, respectively. His work concerns the development of smart sensors with new principles.
