Cell Culture Techniques: Protocols, Methods, Tools and Processes is the ideal laboratory reference to execute animal cell culture assays. Based on the author’s experience and practice, the selected methods represent the current status of the field. Cell culture practices covered in this book include the ones used both in academic and corporate lab setting. The initial part of the book guides the reader through the key decisions and challenges involved with setting up a cell culture laboratory. Serum-free media is then discussed as the way to provide cells the requirements for their growth. The next group of chapters cover the general procedures for cell culture, including selection of media, preparation and sterilization of equipment, tissue extraction or dissociation and initiation of the cell culture. The author then moves on to cover cell counting methods, cell proliferation assays, and scaling up animal cell culture. The chapters that follow discuss authentication, contamination detection by microbes and viruses. The next chapters cover stem cells, organoids, and spheroid cells. The last part of the book provides methods for cell separation, high-speed cell sorting, detection of cell cycle stages and then finally discusses biosafety aspects of cell culture. Providing readers a collection of over 50 animal cell culture laboratory methods, Cell Culture Techniques: Protocols, Methods, Tools and Processes is the ideal companion to bioscientists involved in animal research in academic settings and also to corporate based researchers looking for protocols, methods, tools and processes to improve their practice.
