Animals from different phyla have developed powerful secretions and venoms which are veritable chemical arsenals that act on the biological system with great affinity for their physiological targets in prey/predators. These are involved in immobilisation, necrosis or death, acting as tools that increase the efficiency of attack, capture or digestion of food. In this book we describe components in fish venoms capable of processing vasopeptides of the Renin Angiotensin System.
BSc in Biochemistry from UFV (2005), MSc in Biochemistry from Ribeirão Preto Medical School-USP (2007), PhD in Biochemistry from Ribeirão Preto Medical School-USP (2010). Post-doctorate at the Chemistry Institute of the University of Campinas (2010). He is currently an adjunct professor at the Institute of Chemistry and Biotechnology at UFAL.
